Our goal is to improve the safety and well-being of the person with dementia and reduce stress for their family caregivers. After being provided with a comprehensive list of recommendations, the customer can choose to modify the home environment themselves or schedule an installation specialist to assist with implementing the changes. We will be able to assist customers with obtaining affordable solutions and/or provide a list of vendors/suppliers.



Declines in cognition or an Alzheimer's or other dementia diagnosis is challenging for individuals and their caregivers.

Simple adaptations and design changes can often make one's home more dementia-friendly – and allow those with the condition to maintain independence and stay at home for longer.

AdaptAbility Improvements can help in several ways:

- One of our Registered Occupational Therapists can provide a thorough home safety assessment and make recommendations including:

  • Identifying possible areas of danger;

  • Suggesting helpful behavioural supports;

  • Implementing low-cost solutions such as utilizing technology, reminder systems, and setting up/adapting the physical environment).
